On 16 July, Jupiter enters in Leo, in your solar fifth house of love and creativity. This is a wonderful time for enjoying all that life has to offer and to attend all the interesting festivals, expos, galleries, shows and days out that the entertainment pages feature. It is also wonderful for meeting a fun romantic companion, trying dating for the hell of it, for increasing the joy and love(making) in your relationship, and having time out with your kids. If you want to get pregnant now, it will be much easier than usual – so be warned!  A chance comment or a kooky entry on a blog, website, or magazine may grab your attention and introduce you to something new and refreshing you can enjoy with your lover and/or children on 25 September. While Jupiter is retrograde from 8 December to 31 December 2014 you may experience delays with plans to do with your children and a minor setback or rethink considering your romantic status.

CHALLENGES FOR ARIES IN 2014

Saturn has entered your solar eighth house of shared resources on 6 October 2012 and will stay there until 24 December 2014. You have started to look very hard at your debt levels – this is the perfect time to cut up your credit cards and to reduce your limits as well as seek a better mortgage. You will also consider carefully with whom you can safely grow your wealth. Tax payments could be onerous and the tax man will come after you with a vengeance if you have avoided paying your fair share. On 21 May there is a wonderful trine to Neptune which suggests an insider’s tip will help you and your partner (or other parties) to increase your pool of funds, while for some Aries you will be delighted to discover you’re the beneficiary in a will. Many of you could receive a gift dividend or get confirmation of your new increased salary and/or perks. If you have your own company, email an important client regarding a proposal then. They’re likely to be checking their emails and you could beat the opposition and win their business by being available. 

Love and Relationships for Aries

In marriage and partnerships Aries like those who are more passive, gentle, tactful and diplomatic – people who have the social grace and skills they sometimes lack. Our partners always represent a hidden part of ourselves – a self that we cannot express personally.

An Aries tends to go after what he or she likes aggressively. The tendency is to jump into relationships and marriages. This is especially true if Venus is in Aries as well as the Sun. Aries people often excel as builders or estate agents. Saturn is in Your House of Other People's Money  
Saturn is into your solar eighth house of other people's money. You need to watch how you handle money, however, as Saturn, the great taskmaster planet that teaches us many life lessons, is on  Scorpio into your eighth house of other people's money, from October 5 of 2012. This is a constrictive, limiting influence, and I will give you more details on that.

This is the area where you find a way to fund a big idea, most likely by getting outside funding to make that dream possible. For example, if you want to go to college, you may ask your university for a scholarship or financial aid. If you want to buy a house, you might go to a bank to get a mortgage.
 
Saturn will also often require sacrifice and preparation to materialize a goal, so you may have had to save up for a down payment for the house or to pay for part of the college tuition. If you want to raise venture capital, you have to do research, write a business plan, and then negotiate terms. The eighth house rules lines of credit, loans, mortgages, refinancing plans, taxes, insurance payments, court and divorce settlements, child support, inheritances, commissions, bonuses, and other funds that come to you in one sum rather than being parsed out in weekly payments, like salary. This is the area that Saturn will tutor in during the year ahead, so this will be the area you need to watch.
 
With Saturn in in your eighth house of other people's money, you may notice a tightening to your finances. Banks and other financial people will be less helpful and more demanding of guarantees, security deposits and large down payments, paperwork, and projections. Getting a loan may have been easy earlier in the year and may suddenly become a whole production later in the year.
 
There are effective ways to deal with Saturn in your eighth house. Be careful not to borrow more than you need in the coming year, because it may take much longer than you assume to repay that loan. Be very careful to pay bills on time, as Saturn likes to see you follow the rules or suffer consequences. (This is how he works—he is not like Jupiter, who would be prone to give you a free pass!) Check your statements for errors and protect yourself against identity theft.
 
Work to lower debt while you are doing well financially. If you say you are not doing well financially now, trust that you will, soon, certainly by  May. If you are in a bidding situation or interviewing for a job keep your fees and salary requests a little on the high side, while you have the universe on your side.
 
If you are self-employed, be careful to set aside money for taxes while money is pouring in, for Saturn's position suggests that you might come up short when taxes are due later. Still, it is easy to say these things, but harder to put into practice. Do your best, dear Aries.
 
If you are self-employed and have an investor who has promised you an infusion of venture capital for your business, your investor may change his mind at the last minute and not send the funds, leaving you in the lurch. Have contingency plans in case that happens. Also, ask your lawyer about ways to protect yourself from such instances. If you depend on someone who does not live up to his or her promises, it can cause you a multitude of problems.
 
If you are in business for yourself, also be careful about to whom you extend credit, for with Saturn in the eighth house, you might get stuck when a client does not pay you. If you are in need of a large amount of money for a loan or mortgage, get your money approved after December 23, by all means, because while Saturn is in Scorpio you may face higher, less attractive terms.
 
If anyone owes you money, you may find you have to keep calling to be sure you get paid, lest your client declares bankruptcy and leaves you with a deficiency. I don't want to frighten you— but you will have Saturn here, and that will require a bit of vigilance. If you sign a contract, be sure you read all the fine print, for you don't want to be surprised by a legal action later that could easily have been avoided. If anyone leaves you money in an inheritance, it may take a while for the courts to sort things out. Saturn always demands patience.
 
With Saturn in your money and debt sector, you may have a situation you never anticipated, such as if a family member suddenly becomes unemployed and needs your financial help, draining your resources as you struggle to keep your relative, and you, afloat. This is money well spent—there is nothing better than helping someone in your family in need—but it could cause stress.
 
If you do plan to sign and/or settle early, avoid signing on or near May 10, for Saturn will oppose the Sun on that day, a depressing influence.  Another difficult day for money this year will be November 18, when Saturn conjoins the Sun in your house of other people's money.

Career, Work and Public Image for Aries

One would think that a pioneering type would want to break with the social and political conventions of society. But this is not so with the Aries-born. They are pioneers within conventional limits, in the sense that they like to start their own businesses within an established industry.

Capricorn is on the 10th house (career) cusp of Aries’ Solar horoscope. Saturn is the planet that rules their life’s work and professional aspirations. This tells us some interesting things about the Aries character. First off, it shows that, in order for Aries people to reach their full career potential, they need to develop some qualities that are a bit alien to their basic nature: they need to become better administrators and organizers; they need to be able to handle details better and to take a long-range view of their projects and their careers in general. Pluto in Capricorn Can Lift You to the Mountaintop

Let's talk for a moment about Pluto, since this tiny but extremely powerful planet is now perched at the pinnacle of your chart, a point Pluto moved into in 2008. Since then, your career ambitions have become much more focused, and it seems that you are no longer satisfied with incremental gains in power and prestige—you expect a quantum leap, and rightly so! You can make that leap if you work hard and if you have a practical strategy for success.
 
I use the word "practical" because Pluto is in Capricorn, an earth sign that demands that you be realistic. Make sure the ideas you voice at work conform to any limitations you are given in terms of time and budget. It looks like your position will call on you to manage financial and possibly also artistic resources. This may be a sign that the assignments are growing larger and more important, and that you are taking on much more responsibility—that would fit here.
 
Pluto in this part of your chart demands an all-or-nothing devotion to career goals, so if you are willing to show passionate intent and drive, you will be unstoppable. Pluto is not due to leave this area of your chart until January 2024. That's a sixteen-year run counting back to the date Pluto first arrived in your career sector in 2008. No doubt about it, Pluto can make you extremely powerful in your field.
 
Many people never get to experience Pluto in their tenth house of fame, as it takes Pluto 246 years to circle the Sun and all the signs of the zodiac. It was 1762 to 1778 the last time Pluto was in Capricorn. Think of Pluto as a contractor who goes in to see if there are any cracks in the foundation, and if he finds any, fixes them. If Pluto finds you are in an unproductive, dead-end job or a failing company, he will gradually and quietly drag you to a better situation. You might go kicking and screaming until you wake up one morning and realize the changes were blessings.
 
This year, Pluto in Capricorn will be in very hard angle to Uranus in Aries. Uranus is the planet of rebellion and independence, so you may find that your need for space and autonomy becomes increasingly strong, and you may resist any hint of being held down. (Uranus will remain in Aries until 2019, so this is another very long trend.)
 
Pluto represents authority in your chart, so now that Uranus in Aries is about to clash with Pluto, there will be several points in the year when you will be tempted to storm the gates and challenge people in the very highest echelons of authority. Be careful if you do, and make sure all your moves are well thought out—Uranus may make you too impulsive. Have your overall strategy in mind. If you see a terrible injustice, where people are suffering under bad working conditions, or if you see fraud or something equally troublesome, you would be right to be the whistleblower. Uranus is the planet that defends those who cannot defend themselves.
 
On the other hand, if you have not liked your boss or job for a long time, you may feel compelled to let your boss have a piece of your mind. In that case, count to ten and think again. You may want to secure your new job before you quit your old job. There are so many possibilities in the world. I don't know your situation, so I have to look at the whole spectrum!
 
Pluto and Uranus will be having a long-range tiff  until March 2015. The days these two planets will be in exact aspect in 2014 are April 21 and December 15. However, like two foes that come upon each other on the street, at the very start of the year they will be able to see each other approaching from a distance—they are already within range and have been shouting jabs at one another all year.
 
This aspect will be felt mainly through upheaval in society with the people who have money (the Plutonians—symbolized by Pluto) at odds with the common man, who is not necessarily rich (symbolized by Uranus) but who has innovative new ideas (Aries) and who needs funding but may not be able to get it from the big banks (Pluto in Capricorn, a big money sign). The Occupy Wall Street movement is one example of the dispute between the haves and have-nots that may continue, at least until Pluto and Uranus stop their disagreement in March 2015.
 
Although you may only feel this influence from Pluto and Uranus culturally, I can't take the chance you won't feel it personally, too. Pluto in hard aspect is felt as unfairness, so if you work on a contract basis, you may want to anticipate this possibility and nail down as many protective clauses as you can for yourself.

Saturn will go retrograde from March 2 to July 20, and because Saturn rules your house of career, this spells slowdowns. With Saturn out of phase, it will be harder for you to score professional victories, so this shows, again, that you need to plant seeds in early-to-mid March and then step back, see what needs tweaking and polishing, and see to it that all gets done. In all efforts, there is always a need to backtrack and correct.
